What should be used for oral care when oral ulcers are severe?
When patients suffer from severe oral ulcers, they can purchase some mouthwash for daily use. Some mouthwashes are specifically designed for rinsing and can sterilize the mouth, eliminate odors, and reduce inflammation. Therefore, it is recommended that patients brush their teeth timely in the morning and evening and use mouthwash appropriately. They should also remove food residues promptly after meals. Additionally, patients must pay attention to their daily lives and avoid consuming overly spicy, hard, or hot foods. It's important to protect the mucous membranes inside the mouth, as these tissues are delicate and cannot withstand prolonged strong irritations. Particular caution should be taken with corrosive foods because they can also cause irritation in the mouth.

Can you drink alcohol with gingivitis?
When a patient has gingivitis, we generally advise against drinking alcohol. This is to prevent the aggravation of gingivitis when consuming alcohol, as it can exacerbate the condition. During gingivitis, the gums are in an inflamed state and are particularly sensitive to external irritants. Therefore, it is crucial for patients with gingivitis to maintain oral hygiene. In terms of diet, it is essential to eat light and avoid spicy, irritating foods as well as overly hard or hot foods. It is important to adopt the correct way of brushing teeth daily, remove food residues from the mouth promptly after meals, and brush teeth morning and evening. Additionally, patients should have their teeth cleaned professionally once a year, which can effectively remove tartar and dental plaque, benefiting the health of the gums.

Is severe oral ulceration related to syphilis?
Oral ulcers are a type of erosion of the mucous membrane in the mouth and are commonly seen in clinical settings; they are a common disease. Syphilis, on the other hand, is a viral infection unrelated to oral ulcers, so it is recommended that patients be aware to differentiate them. Furthermore, it is crucial for patients to pay attention to their lifestyle habits and personal hygiene. When oral ulcers occur, it is appropriate to use some medications for oral ulcers for application, which can effectively treat the ulcerated surface of the mouth. Moreover, if a patient experiences severe, recurrent oral ulcers, it is advised to seek medical diagnosis at a hospital to exclude the possibility of other systemic diseases causing the ulcers. Additionally, patients should maintain good oral hygiene daily to develop healthy oral habits.

Symptoms of periodontitis pain
When a patient suffers from periodontitis, it means that the periodontal tissues are in an inflammatory phase. The inflamed gum tissue may exhibit symptoms such as redness, pain, and a relatively soft texture. Touching it may cause bleeding. Some patients may experience pus discharge and loosening of teeth, which are common symptoms of periodontitis. As the condition progresses, the spaces between teeth may increase, eventually leading to shrinkage of the gum tissue, loosening of teeth, or even tooth loss. Therefore, it is recommended that patients with periodontitis seek timely medical attention at a reputable dental hospital and take appropriate measures. Additionally, it is essential for patients to maintain correct tooth brushing methods and develop proper oral hygiene habits in their daily lives.

Do occasional toothaches from cavities need treatment?
When a patient has a cavity, they may only occasionally experience pain. In such cases, it is generally recommended that the patient visits a hospital for consultation. Even a minor cavity has its preventative measures to stop it from worsening and leading to severe consequences; therefore, treatment is still necessary. Many severe cavities develop from minor ones. They can slowly cause defects in the teeth, damage to the tooth root, or stimulate the nerves in the gums, potentially leading to loose or falling teeth. Thus, it is advisable for patients to adopt the correct treatment methods. Additionally, if patients experience pain, they can undergo anti-inflammatory and pain relief treatments to alleviate discomfort and avoid inconvenience in their dietary life.

Is bleeding when brushing teeth an early sign of liver cancer?
When a patient has liver cancer, one symptom can be gingival bleeding. Because when a patient has liver cancer, some coagulation factors in the blood are affected, and the patient may frequently experience repeated dental bleeding. Therefore, it is suggested that patients should undergo early diagnostic tests and adopt specific treatment plans. However, repeated gingival bleeding in a patient does not necessarily indicate early-stage liver cancer, as some hematological diseases can also lead to repeated gingival bleeding, such as common thrombocytopenia and some patients with gingivitis. If long-term oral hygiene is neglected, the gingival tissue stays in a state of chronic inflammation, and acute inflammation can lead to bleeding while brushing teeth.

If a cavity is not thoroughly cleaned before being filled, what will happen?
When a patient has severe dental caries and undergoes filling, if the decay is not completely removed before filling, it may lead to reinfection and residual decay, continuing to cause inflammation. Therefore, it is recommended that the decay be completely removed before filling. In such cases, it is generally safe for patients to seek treatment at a formal dental hospital. Official hospitals adhere to strict standards, effectively cleaning the affected area for filling and repair. Therefore, patients need not be overly anxious; this type of procedure is quite common in dentistry. Patients are advised to maintain good oral hygiene in daily life and seek timely medical attention when dental caries occur.

Can gingivitis heal on its own?
Generally, when suffering from gingivitis, if the patient does not take some corresponding measures, recovery is generally difficult, requires a longer time, and the chances of full recovery are relatively small. Therefore, when suffering from gingivitis, it is essential for patients to take appropriate measures to aid the recovery of gingivitis. Special attention should be paid to oral hygiene, making sure to rinse the mouth in time after meals, brush teeth morning and evening, and possibly get regular dental cleanings, which can effectively remove dental plaque and calculus, alleviating gum irritation. Additionally, patients should pay attention to their daily diet and lifestyle; avoid overeating and abstaining from spicy, irritating foods, as well as frequent smoking, drinking alcohol, and staying up late. Moreover, when suffering from gingivitis, patients can appropriately take some anti-inflammatory medications, which can effectively aid in the recovery of gingivitis.

Does angular cheilitis require the use of cephalosporins?
Angular cheilitis is also relatively common in clinical practice, commonly referred to as cracked corners of the mouth. This condition is generally caused by a deficiency in vitamins and trace elements in the patient's body, or due to excessive internal heat, leading to erosion at the corners of the mouth. Furthermore, the surface may also exhibit a moist, whitish appearance accompanied by pain. At this time, it is advised that patients should not frequently lick the affected area with their tongue and may apply some anti-inflammatory ointment. If the pain is severe and the damage from angular cheilitis is significant, patients can appropriately take some oral cephalosporins. However, as cephalosporins are antibiotics, it is recommended that patients use them under a doctor’s guidance and not take them indiscriminately. If a patient is allergic to penicillin, cephalosporins should not be used, so it is advised not to take them without proper guidance.

Can I eat donkey-hide gelatin if I often have oral ulcers?
Patients who frequently suffer from oral ulcers are advised to consume less donkey-hide gelatin and avoid consuming it in large quantities. This is because excessive consumption of donkey-hide gelatin may lead to "internal heat" in some patients, which can exacerbate the condition of oral ulcers. If the donkey-hide gelatin is part of some traditional Chinese medicine formulas, it is generally safe to consume, and patients need not worry too much. However, patients who often suffer from oral ulcers must seek timely medical consultation to diagnose what causes their ulcers, as other systemic diseases can also cause ulcers. Therefore, it is advisable for patients to identify the cause early and formulate a specific treatment plan. If the occurrence of oral ulcers is occasional and mild, patients need not be overly concerned; topical anti-ulcer medication can be used and can be very effective in treatment.
