How to deal with burns from hot oil?
After being scalded by hot oil, you should immediately rinse the affected area with plenty of cold water or running tap water for more than half an hour, or until the pain eases. Then, thoroughly disinfect with iodine. After a scald, if blisters form and are small and few, you can apply a burn moisturizing cream to promote healing; small blisters generally reabsorb on their own. If there are large blisters, you can use a sterile syringe to aspirate the fluid inside the blisters and keep the blister skin intact. At the same time, applying burn moisturizing cream on the surface can prevent infection. If the blister skin breaks, it is necessary to go to a formal hospital for treatment promptly. You should maintain a light diet, eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, and consume high-protein, high-nutrient foods to promote wound healing. You should avoid spicy and irritating foods, drink plenty of water, avoid getting the wound wet to prevent infection, and change dressings according to the doctor's instructions.

Do you need to avoid certain foods after being scalded by oil?
After being scalded by oil, it is necessary to avoid certain foods. Foods such as raw onions, raw garlic, chili peppers, and leeks should not be consumed. At the same time, alcoholic beverages should also be avoided, including red wine, white liquor, grape wine, champagne, and rice wine. This is because spicy and stimulating foods can accelerate local blood circulation at the burned area, thereby worsening local congestion, swelling, and pain, and prolonging the healing time. Additionally, seafood like fish and shrimp are not recommended as they can easily cause allergies. Patients can opt for a high-protein diet; for example, eggs are permissible. The diet should primarily consist of light, nutritious, and easily digestible foods.

What should I do if my mouth is scalded by boiling water?
If the mouth is accidentally scalded by hot water, it should be promptly cooled down. Initially, one can soak the affected area in cold water or apply a cold pack to reduce body temperature, dissipate heat, and alleviate pain. Subsequently, medication should be applied depending on the degree of the burn. If the scalded area only shows redness and stinging, one could disinfect it with iodine followed by an application of burn ointment to reduce swelling and promote healing. If clear blisters form, they can be punctured with a sterile needle to drain the fluid, then burn ointment should be applied to help reduce symptoms. During treatment, the affected area should avoid contact with water and spicy foods should not be consumed, both of which are beneficial for the healing of the wound.

How to treat steam burns
After being scalded by steam, if it is just a minor burn without blistering or broken skin, only redness and pain, you can rinse the wound under tap water immediately or soak it in cold water for more than half an hour, the longer the better, in order to reduce the continued penetration of heat and avoid damage to deeper tissues. If the skin is only reddened and there is no need for special treatment, it can subside on its own. If the burning sensation is severe, you can disinfect with iodine and then apply burn ointment to the burn area. Try not to bandage the wound to keep it breathable, which can help the wound heal faster. If bandaging is necessary, use light, sterile gauze. The wound should be kept dry, and wet clothing should be cut off after cooling to prevent further contamination of the wound. It is advisable to seek timely medical treatment at a hospital.

What should I do if a burn from oil leaves a red mark?
If a burn from oil leaves a red mark, there's no need for the patient to panic. The red mark remains because the injury occurred recently and the tissues have not fully repaired themselves. Generally, after about six months, the red mark will gradually fade. Patients should avoid rubbing the area, scratching it, and consuming spicy or irritating foods. Alcoholic beverages should be avoided, and foods rich in vitamin C should be consumed more. If you want to speed up the fading of the red marks, you can pierce a vitamin E capsule and apply the liquid inside to the remaining burn mark, gently massaging it for about ten minutes, twice a day. This method can be effective.

Can iodophor be used to disinfect burns?
After a burn, it is possible to disinfect with povidone-iodine. Povidone-iodine has a broad spectrum of antibacterial effects and can kill proliferating bacteria, fungi, and some viruses. After a burn occurs on the skin, the first step is to reduce the temperature of the skin, which can be done by soaking in running tap water or cold water for more than half an hour to alleviate pain. Then, disinfect with povidone-iodine. After disinfecting with povidone-iodine, apply burn moistening cream locally, and then wrap it with sterile gauze. Change the dressing once a day, and after dressing, try not to come into contact with water to prevent infection. Also, avoid friction between the wound and the gauze, as this could affect the healing of the wound. Generally, mild burns can heal in about two weeks.

What to do if your hand gets burned?
After a hand burn, it is first necessary to promptly cool the area. This can be done by rinsing with running clear water, or applying cold compresses such as ice packs or ice cubes to the burned area to quickly reduce the temperature and relieve pain. Then, observe the extent of the burn on the hand. If it is only some redness and swelling, disinfect with iodine and then apply some medicine for treatment. If blisters appear after the burn, which usually indicates a second-degree or more severe burn, sterilized needles can be used to puncture the blisters. After disinfecting with iodine, apply burn ointment or alternate with erythromycin ointment to help promote wound healing. For extensive burns on the hand, self-treatment can easily lead to infection, and in such cases, it is necessary to go to the hospital for dressing, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory treatment to avoid hand infection and tissue necrosis.

What should I do if I get burned by hot oil?
After being scalded by hot oil, first, you should quickly move away from the hot oil. If oil splashes onto your clothes, carefully remove the oil-soaked clothing, including pants, shoes, and socks. Rinse the affected area with running water for more than half an hour to reduce the burning sensation and pain. If the scald manifests as local redness or small blisters, you can apply burn ointment to the surface. Try not to break the blisters or the epidermis to avoid bacterial infection. If blisters have already formed, under strict sterilization, you can use a sterilized needle to drain the blister fluid and then cover the wound with gauze to protect it from water. If the blisters are relatively large, it is advisable to go to the hospital burn department for examination, treatment, and care.

How to treat a cold burn?
Low-temperature burns generally refer to chronic burns caused by prolonged contact with low-heat objects, such as hot water bottles, heaters, metal hand warmers, etc. These low-temperature heating devices, when in close contact for a long time, can easily cause skin burns, especially in the elderly and infants, who are more prone to local skin damage. Therefore, once a low-temperature burn occurs, it is important to cool the affected area promptly, including soaking and rinsing with cold water to achieve cooling and pain relief effects. Afterwards, the wound can be disinfected with iodophor and treated with burn medication. Mild low-temperature burns will gradually heal. Additionally, if significant skin damage has occurred, it may be necessary to consider using medications in combination, such as erythromycin ointment, all of which can help promote recovery of the affected area.
