Does voice rest have an effect on vocal cord polyps?
Vocal cord polyps are a relatively common ENT disease. Resting the voice can benefit symptoms of hoarseness. However, the effectiveness of treatment can vary individually. If the polyps are large, resting alone may not be completely effective, and in such cases, oral medications and nebulization treatments should be combined. During treatment, regular check-ups to observe the effects are necessary. However, some patients may not achieve satisfactory results with conservative treatment and might need to consider surgical removal. Currently, minimally invasive surgery is commonly used, and after the surgery, symptoms of hoarseness in most patients will significantly improve, but there may be a risk of recurrence.
