Can erythromycin ointment be used for paronychia?
Erythromycin ointment can be used for paronychia. Paronychia is a disease where an infection occurs in the nail groove or the surrounding soft tissue. If left untreated, paronychia can develop into more severe conditions such as subungual abscess. Paronychia often results from injuries such as abrasions, puncture wounds, ingrown nails, or pulling out hangnails. Erythromycin ointment can be used as a topical medication for paronychia, but it is important to keep the affected area clean and dry.

Erysipelas is a disease.
Erysipelas is a type of skin inflammation infection, primarily involving the superficial lymphatic vessels. There are several triggers for erysipelas, such as trauma, surgery, etc. Generally, erysipelas tends to show symptoms such as fever, chills, nausea, etc. After contracting erysipelas, erythema often appears within a day, but the boundaries of the erythema are quite clear. Upon examination, an increase in skin temperature and skin tension can be observed. Erysipelas primarily occurs on the face or lower legs.

The difference between prickly heat and allergies
Prickly heat and allergies are two different diseases, each with many significant distinctions. First, prickly heat tends to occur when the temperature is high, the weather is hot, and the body's resistance is low, while allergies are likely to occur when the skin reacts to certain foods, weather conditions, or allergens, causing corresponding skin symptoms. The treatment for prickly heat primarily involves the use of cooling powders applied externally, while maintaining a cool environment and bathing frequently. Allergies, on the other hand, are mainly treated with oral antihistamines.

How to stop the itching from frostbite?
After suffering from frostbite, itching occurs mainly due to the stimulation of peripheral nerves causing an itchy sensation. Therefore, to relieve itching, one can apply some anti-itch creams such as frostbite cream. Saline, ginger, and soap can also be used to alleviate itching by promoting local skin blood circulation and constricting local blood vessels, thus having an anti-itch effect. After frostbite itches, one must not scratch, press, or touch cold water.

Causes of skin allergies
The causes of skin allergies are mainly related to exposure to allergens, and different people have different allergens. For some, it might be medications, for others, it could be foods, and for some, environmental factors might be the allergens. Regardless of the type of allergen, it is necessary to actively conduct examinations and identify the causes, while also treating the skin allergy promptly.

How long does it take to rule out something sharp?
Whether the warts from genital warts increase in number or size is greatly related to the patient's own immune strength. If the immunity is relatively weak and insufficient to resist or suppress virus replication, the warts tend to grow. Conversely, if the patient's immunity is relatively strong, the warts generally do not tend to increase in size and may even disappear or diminish. Therefore, even if the warts do not appear to be growing, one cannot completely rule out genital warts no matter how much time has passed.

The harms of tinea unguium
Onychomycosis, also known as tinea unguium, is a skin disease caused by fungal infection of the nail plate and nail bed. It typically leads to symptoms such as yellowing nails, uneven surfaces, thickening, defects, and deformations. Following an infection, the nails can become damaged and incomplete, significantly affecting appearance. Furthermore, onychomycosis is contagious and can lead to other skin diseases, such as athlete's foot, ringworm, and jock itch. It can also lead to complications such as paronychia, causing pain and affecting walking, among other issues.

What is shingles?
Herpes zoster is a viral skin disease, and humans are the only hosts for the varicella-zoster virus. Therefore, the virus can easily enter the bloodstream through the respiratory tract mucosa, leading to viremia, and consequently causing chickenpox or presenting as a latent infection. The virus can lie dormant for long periods in our ganglia or nerve roots. When the body is stimulated again, leading to a decrease in resistance, the dormant virus can be activated, which may result in herpes zoster.

The difference between syringoma and flat warts
Syringoma and flat warts are two completely different diseases with significant differences. First, syringoma is a type of hamartoma and belongs to tumors, while flat warts are skin diseases caused by viral infections. Secondly, syringomas often appear symmetrically, primarily around the eyes or on the forehead, and are accompanied by itching symptoms. On the other hand, flat warts usually do not have a symmetrical distribution; they are scattered or densely distributed, and generally do not exhibit itching symptoms.

What medicine is used for prickly heat?
Prickly heat is a common skin disease that often occurs in summer. For the treatment of prickly heat, we divide it into systemic treatment and topical treatment. Systemic treatment mainly involves taking antihistamines orally, such as loratadine tablets, when itching is severe. If there is a pus infection, it is recommended to use antibiotics for treatment. Another method is the topical treatment of prickly heat, which involves the use of cooling powders locally, such as prickly heat powder or cooling and itching-relieving washes, such as calamine lotion or menthol tincture. In cases of pustular prickly heat, calamine or berberine powder can be used topically.
