Traditional Chinese medicine believes that hyperplasia of the mammary glands starts with liver depression, which then leads to blood stasis and phlegm coalescing into masses. The treatment should focus on soothing the liver and regulating qi, activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis, and softening the hard masses and dispersing the lumps.
