Will external hemorrhoids affect sexual life?
External hemorrhoids generally do not affect sexual life. External hemorrhoids mainly refer to hemorrhoids that grow below the dentate line, primarily divided into connective tissue external hemorrhoids, varicose external hemorrhoids, inflammatory external hemorrhoids, and thrombosed external hemorrhoids. The main clinical manifestations of the first three types of external hemorrhoids are a foreign body sensation in the anus and moisture at the anus, so they do not affect sexual life. Only thrombosed external hemorrhoids can cause anal pain, which might affect sexual life if the pain is very severe.
How long does it take for a thrombosed external hemorrhoid to subside?
Thrombotic external hemorrhoids are a type of external hemorrhoids. Generally, after 2-3 days, the thrombus begins to be absorbed and the pain significantly reduces and can be healed. However, in cases with a large thrombotic lump, significant pain can occur and in severe cases, it can hinder walking. The patient may be restless whether sitting or lying down, the surface may re-ulcerate, causing bleeding, and the thrombus can naturally expel itself. At this time, the lump will be eliminated.
Hemorrhoids: What dietary considerations should be noted?
Patients with internal hemorrhoids should primarily focus on a reasonable diet, paying attention to eat less or avoid spicy and stimulating foods and condiments. Additionally, they should cultivate the habit of drinking more water, preferably light salt water or honey water. For constipation and hemorrhoids, it's important to consciously drink more water and eat more fruits and fresh vegetables, especially those that are rich in coarse fiber. Stimulating foods such as chili peppers, black pepper, ginger, garlic, and onions should be consumed minimally.
External hemorrhoids are divided into several types.
External hemorrhoids refer to hemorrhoids below the dentate line and are divided into four types. The first type is the connective tissue type of external hemorrhoids, which are formed by the proliferation and bulging of excess skin at the anal margin. The second type is the varicose vein type of external hemorrhoids, formed by the dilation and bending of the venous plexus below the dentate line. The third type is inflammatory external hemorrhoids, which is a state where external hemorrhoids become inflamed. The fourth type is the thrombosed external hemorrhoid, which is formed by bleeding due to the rupture of the subcutaneous veins at the anal margin, resulting in a blood clot.
Do internal hemorrhoids cause a sensation of falling and swelling in the anus?
Internal hemorrhoids can cause a sensation of fullness or swelling in the anus. Although the main clinical symptoms of internal hemorrhoids are bleeding and prolapse of the hemorrhoidal nodes outside the anus, any stage of internal hemorrhoids can exhibit varying degrees of this sensation. Early to middle stages of internal hemorrhoids typically involve less severe swelling, while in the later stages, when the hemorrhoidal nodes prolapse, the sensation can be significantly more intense, especially after prolonged standing or physical exertion.
What should I do if internal hemorrhoids always bleed?
Internal hemorrhoids refer to the venous clumps located above the dentate line. When these hemorrhoids are injured or ruptured, bleeding during bowel movements occurs, which is the most common primary symptom in patients with internal hemorrhoids. Frequent bleeding from internal hemorrhoids can first be treated conservatively, such as by taking oral hemostatic medications, followed by the local application of hemorrhoid creams, suppositories, and the like. If bleeding consistently persists, surgical treatment may be required. Once internal hemorrhoids present symptoms of bleeding or prolapse, they typically indicate the need for surgery, hence treatment for frequent bleeding in internal hemorrhoids can be either conservative or surgical.
Can external hemorrhoids be treated without surgery?
Some external hemorrhoids do not require surgical treatment, as they come in three types. The first type, connective tissue external hemorrhoids, mainly presents as a mild foreign body sensation, generally painless, thus surgery is not necessary. Varicose vein type external hemorrhoids typically cause a feeling of heaviness and discomfort around the anus, and if symptoms are not severe, surgery is not required either. Only thrombosed external hemorrhoids, which usually involve severe pain, may resolve significantly on their own within two to three days if the lump is not large. Surgery is only needed for large, thrombosed external hemorrhoids.
Can people with rectal prolapse eat beef?
Rectal prolapse mainly occurs when the rectal mucosa prolapses out of the anus during defecation. If the symptoms are severe, the rectal mucosa can also protrude out of the anus during prolonged standing or exertion. As for whether beef can be eaten, because beef is generally spicy and many cooking methods are spicy, spicy foods can affect bowel movements, causing congestion and swelling of the anal mucosa. Therefore, it is best to avoid spicy beef. Furthermore, beef tends to cause "internal heat" in the body, which can lead to constipation. It is recommended that patients with rectal prolapse eat more vegetables and fruits to maintain smooth bowel movements. Thus, if one really wants to eat beef, it's best to either not make it spicy or to eat it in moderation.
Do internal hemorrhoids require surgery?
Surgical indications for internal hemorrhoids include bleeding and prolapse of anal masses. These symptoms necessitate surgical treatment. Secondly, if scheduling surgery is not possible due to being busy, conservative treatment like applying ointment to the anus or taking medication can be used initially to alleviate the symptoms. If conservative treatment fails, it is still not too late to opt for surgery. (Specific medications should be used under the guidance of a physician.)
