What to eat to alleviate dysmenorrhea
If the dysmenorrhea is non-pathological, it can be improved through medication and dietary adjustments. In terms of medication, if the dysmenorrhea is caused by a cold uterus with scanty menstrual flow and poor blood circulation, Yimu Capsules can be taken continuously for three days starting from the first day of menstruation. During non-menstrual periods, Wujibaifeng Pills can be taken for conditioning. You can eat more foods that invigorate blood circulation and warm the uterus, such as red dates and longans. Additionally, avoid cold foods in your regular diet, especially in summer; try not to consume frozen drinks or cold foods. It's beneficial to drink some warm water and pay attention to keeping your abdomen warm. (Medications should be used under the guidance of a physician.)
Can ultrasound detect endometritis?
Endometritis can be detected through an ultrasound, and it's best to inspect within three to seven days after the menstrual cycle has ended. Ultrasound is a tool that assists in diagnosing gynecological diseases, and it can be used to check for endometritis. However, to confirm the diagnosis, other methods such as laboratory tests, vaginal discharge exams, and internal scanning are needed. When treating endometritis, it's crucial to identify any underlying causes. For instance, if there are retained placental fragments after childbirth or a miscarriage, a curettage to remove the remnants is necessary. Furthermore, if the endometritis is caused by an intrauterine device, it should be removed; if caused by uterine polyps, these should be excised.
What should I do if I experience menstrual pain and vomiting?
The factors causing dysmenorrhea are complex and often include exposure to cold, mental stress, or conditions like endometriosis and adenomyosis, which can lead to elevated levels of prostaglandins. This increase in prostaglandins causes excessive contraction of the uterine smooth muscles during menstruation, leading to local ischemia and hypoxia, and resulting in pain. This pain is usually spasmodic and can cause nausea, vomiting, and other gastrointestinal symptoms. When these symptoms occur, pain relief should be the first priority. Additionally, it is important to avoid excessive tension, maintain mental relaxation, and avoid exposure to cold.
Can uterine prolapse heal itself?
Uterine prolapse is generally difficult to heal completely on its own. Uterine prolapse occurs when the uterus descends from its normal position along the vagina, with the cervical external os reaching below the level of the ischial spine, or even the entire uterus protruding outside the vaginal opening. This condition is difficult to recover from by itself. From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, the causes of uterine prolapse are generally attributed to physical weakness or deficiency of Qi and blood. Therefore, it may be appropriate to use some tonic Chinese herbal medicines for treatment. Additionally, comprehensive conditioning through diet and exercise can also be beneficial. Enhancing nutrition by consuming foods such as black chicken, Chinese yam, goji berries, and jujube, which are considered to have tonic effects in traditional Chinese medicine, can strengthen the body and improve conditions like uterine prolapse, providing significant help. If the prolapse is beyond the hymen and symptomatic, surgical treatment should be considered.
Why are breasts painful and swollen before menstruation?
Premenstrual breast pain is a common symptom among women and is considered a normal physiological response. It mainly occurs due to the increase in estrogen levels in the body seven to ten days before menstruation, leading to breast hyperplasia and enlargement, causing discomfort that makes the breasts sensitive to touch. There is no need for excessive concern as breast pain caused by hyperplasia is normal. Generally, the condition improves after menstruation and does not require special treatment. If the pain is severe, applying heat can help alleviate it.
Is cervical erosion prone to pregnancy?
Cervical erosion, if not severe, generally does not affect pregnancy. However, if cervical erosion continues to worsen, leading to chronic inflammation of the uterus, it is likely to result in infertility. Timely treatment can be administered, and once disease symptoms are controlled, it is possible to become pregnant again. Treatment methods such as LEEP (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure) with blue light can be used to effectively alleviate the symptoms of cervical erosion. Cleansing with traditional Chinese medicine can also have a certain therapeutic effect on alleviating cervical erosion.
What is amenorrhea?
In clinical practice, amenorrhea is an external manifestation caused by pathological and physiological changes in women's bodies, resulting from various diseases. Generally, the most typical symptom of amenorrhea is the absence of menstruation or the cessation of periods. There are many causes of amenorrhea, which may include exposure to cold, fatigue, emotional stress, bacterial infections, and disruptions in hormone secretion caused by medications or diseases. If amenorrhea occurs, it can be managed through diet by avoiding picky and unbalanced eating, and consciously increasing the intake of high-protein and high-calorie foods, which helps in hormone production and conversion, maintaining normal menstruation. Additionally, if dietary adjustments prove ineffective, it is important to seek prompt medical examination and treatment at a hospital.
Can you drink coffee when you have menstrual cramps?
While drinking coffee does not significantly exacerbate menstrual pain, it can lead to excessive excitability and affect nerve functions. Moreover, too much coffee can cause stomach discomfort. Therefore, it is not recommended to drink coffee during periods of menstrual pain. Instead, it is advisable to drink more brown sugar ginger tea or eat easily digestible food, which helps in rapid recovery of the condition and is very beneficial in alleviating menstrual pain. During menstruation, it is also important to avoid cold foods.
What is uterine fibroids?
In clinical practice, uterine fibroids are common benign tumors found in female reproductive organs. Clinically, they present with symptoms such as heavy menstrual bleeding, anemia, and pressure on the rectum, causing difficulty in defecation, as well as pressure on the bladder, leading to urgency in urination. Uterine fibroids, also known as fibromyomas or uterine leiomyomas, are the most common tumors in the human body. They mainly consist of proliferating smooth muscle cells of the uterus, with a small amount of fibrous connective tissue acting as support. Uterine fibroids can affect the function of the reproductive cycle. It is advisable to visit a gynecologist for examination and actively seek treatment.
How to deal with vulvar inflammation?
When inflammation and swelling of the vulva occur, it is essential to pay attention to personal hygiene and wash with clean water after defecation. The secretions of the vulva are acidic and contain normal flora, which helps prevent bacterial infections. Avoid frequently washing the vulva with medications or other washes. In cases of vulvar inflammation, it is advisable to wear breathable cotton underwear to avoid wearing too tight underwear and to use anti-inflammatory ointments to treat swelling. Furthermore, women experiencing this condition should avoid foods that can cause irritation and inflammation of the genitals, such as soft-shelled turtles, crabs, chicken, goose, lamb, etc., and should also avoid spicy and irritating foods.
